Farm Owner, Roger and Leslie met in a sheep barn at Virginia Tech. They raised their two children in Pennsylvania where Roger made a career in farm insurance. Roger loves to work hard on the farm, see things growing and sees farming as a way to get closer to God.
Farm Owner, Leslie is retired from a career as a Biology professor at West Chester University. These days, Leslie keeps busy with her gaggle of show dogs, which she breeds, cares for, and shows around the country with high honors.
Growing vegetables is such important work. I have personally witnessed every aspect of my own health and well-being improve just by eating, growing, and sharing food. I am so honored to be your Fields Edge farmer, and look forward to filling your days with fresh vegetables and the beauty that comes with them.
Jason joined the farm crew in the fall of 2019. He earned a degree in horticulture from Virginia tech and has always been an avid gardener, herbalist and cook. He is experimenting with Korean natural farming and plans to offer the public farm classes in the future.
Tanya is a hard working farmher who operates her own farm, Wild Mountain Farm, in Floyd where she grows Blueberries and other assorted veggies with her family. She moonlights with us at Fields Edge and is the face of the farm at the Floyd Farmers Market.
Originally from North Carolina, Lindsey graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Recreation Management, Commercial Recreation, & Tourism. After years of traveling the country working in the music industry, she is slowly settling back to her roots in the Blue Ridge mountains. Lindsey enjoys collecting vinyl, kayaking, and spending time with family. She is currently managing the farm's market operation in Blacksburg and loves connecting with the community each Saturday.
